180 copies, 131/180, signed Joseph Beuys, "la rivoluzione siamo noi" (we are the revolution).
The work of Joseph Beuys (1921–1986), deeply politically engaged (he even served as a Green party deputy late in life), is a constant questioning of the human being and the place it occupies within his own personal cosmogony at the heart of the universe. Strongly shaped by the human sciences — anthropology, ethnology, sociology — his work is also heavily influenced by his own biography. Beuys developed numerous radical concepts, given concrete form in extreme actions and performances, such as the famous "I Like America and America Likes Me" (1974), in which Beuys had himself locked in a New York gallery with a coyote.
