In the course of 1928, Messrs. Marcel Bennet, Fernand Malinvaud, Edmond Charles-Lavauzelle, Gaston Edoux and a few others worked out the creation of a flying club, which was announced in the Journal Officiel of 9 January 1929. The ACL remained the only association bringing together all the sporting aeronautical activities of the département until 1953.
